Tuition Deadline!
This digital display was created to inform students about the tuition deadline. I limited the information in the design to three things: What? When and Where? I aligned all of the text in the center for a very formal and straight forward approach - no guessing on how to view or read it. I wanted the date to be the most memorable part of the design. To do this I made it larger than the rest of the text and placed in in the middle. I wanted it to have a scratch off effect to reveal the deadline date. I also gave used numbers to replace some of the letters in spelling December. My first reason for doing this was to create more visual interest, second it was to have the viewer spend more time looking at it because it has kind of a bit of a riddle to it that makes you want to solve it - kind of like when you see a license plate that has a phrase coded into it. I figured that if I could get the view to look at it longer they would remember the date. I used a vignette effect to spotlight the words and create greater contrast. I used repetition with the text and the space between them and placed them in a comfortable proximity to each other and the edge of the design space to give it a balanced feel.
